Anna Laudel Istanbul is delighted to host “Once the Pavement Ends” on its ground floor, a group exhibition that invites visitors to reconsider their connection to the street and the city, as well as notice what often goes unseen amid the hustle and bustle of daily life. The exhibition will be on view at Anna Laudel Istanbul until August 31, 2025.

Featuring works by Lennart Brede, Ramazan Can, Tuğçe Diri, Bilal Hakan Karakaya, Ardan Özmenoğlu, Daniele Sigalot, Cem Sonel, and Serpil Yeter, the selection offers traces that touch the rhythm, surface, and memory of the city. The exhibition not only reflects urban diversity but also showcases the variety of artistic productions inspired by it. Drawing inspiration from different corners of the street, the artists reinterpret the hidden stories within details using various techniques. Every element captured in the works, from manhole covers to mosaics, cobblestones to market stalls, bears a trace of Istanbul, presenting an archive shaped by the city’s flow. The works also reveal how the urban dynamic takes shape in the minds of different artists. “Once the Pavement Ends” questions our relationship with public space and offers a new perspective—inviting viewers to reflect on urban memory, both past and present.
